We’re huge fans of the Office. And you can’t love the Office without loving Michael’s tongue-in-cheek ways to show love around the office.
But, it’s not always the best way to show his affection for his team, which lands him with his favorite person: Toby.
In celebration of Valentines Day, we’ve put together a list of ways to show love around the office.
Don’t worry, Toby approves of this.
Show Love Around the Office
Company Provided Lunch
Nothing get’s a team more excited than a company provided lunch.
And the great thing is, it doesn’t even have to be the best food! In fact, one of our favorite provided lunches is from a local pizza place!
Aside from showing the love, it’s also a great way to build your team closer together, step away from the minutia of work, and cut loose for a bit.
Gifts of Appreciation
Not every gift has to be an award to show your appreciation. Even something simple as a bag of candy or a thoughtful letter can go a long way.
And in the spirit of Valentines Day, why not go with something Valentine themed?
Who doesn’t love getting those conversation heart candies? And now you can get them printed with your brand!
Unanimous Valentines Exchange
Your brand isn’t what’s just seen by your customers, but also by the perception of your team.
Meaning for cultures built on fun, having a unanimous valentines exchange can be a way to show that “fun” aspect within your culture.
Just…make sure it’s Toby compliant.
Nothing says love like wine! Set aside some time for everyone to meet in the lobby for a small glass of wine.
If it’s a part of your culture, use Valentines Day to announce a new weekly event, such as Wine on Wednesday. You can even make the weekly event official by presenting the announcement with branded flutes!
Or a Starbucks Run
If alcohol doesn’t fit the company code, show love around the office with a Starbucks run instead!
There’s a drink for everyone there. For the non-coffee drinkers, get a tea. Everyone else can get what they want!
Want to really show love? Break up the day and get everyone out of the office.
Take the team bowling, go see a movie, or simply go to the park if it’s a nice day.
Everyone can use a break from work, even during the work week.
All in All, Just Be Human
The thing that matters most, just be a human.
Showing love has been in our DNA since the beginning of mankind, and taking a day to show that love for your team is important.
Although it could be said to be appreciative of your team every day, it’s nice to take at least one day to be intentional about it.
