Thirsty Thursdays Can Build Morale…Here’s How

Don’t know what Thirsty Thursdays are? You are missing out!

Thirsty Thursdays are what some would call cocktail hour on Fridays, just on a Thursday. And here at USImprints, we LOVE our Thirsty Thursdays!

(We used to celebrate Wine on Wednesday, but changed it to Thursdays because of how so many meetings fell.)

Now to be transparent about why we do this, it’s because it’s a great team building exercise and builds morale.

Nothing like a little liquid courage, right?

Jokes aside, we believe in working hard to play hard. This is a little reward for that work hard.

If you have been considering implementing your own Thirsty Thursdays, consider a few of these benefits of how it can build morale within the office.

Thirsty Thursdays And Building Morale

Nourish Professional Relationships

Sally works in Accounting and Sue works in art. They have so much in common, but never see each other because they are in different departments.

That doesn’t make them any less on the same team, even though they are departments away from each other.

Thankfully, on Thursdays, they can still see each other, catch up with each other, and tell their horror stories about their pets digging holes in their yard!

By implementing Thirsty Thursdays, it’s possible to bring people together who otherwise wouldn’t have seen each other much, if ever!

Allow Teams to Cut Loose

We all have those days where it’s been a rough one and you just need something to break the pattern for the day.

Some days, that day happens to land on a Thursday. So when wine time rolls around, it allows you to step away from the desk and cut lose for 30 minutes with your work friends.

That can often be enough to get your day back on the right track.

Show You Care to Have Fun

As mentioned earlier, we love to work hard so we can play hard. And we mean it. (You can see some of our “play hard” outings here!)

There are many companies who say this as well, but don’t live it out.

By just sacrificing 30 minutes of the week, businesses can show they truly value an environment of fun while getting their work done.

And in today’s current workforce, having fun is a must in order to keep retention rates higher!

We’re Not Lushes

Now, to clear any thoughts you may have, we are not lushes. We limit how much wine is consumed, because we still want the job done right.

This is really just a time to say, “Thank you” to the team and show appreciation.

After 30 minutes of fun, it’s back to the phones and helping our customers get their promotional products on items, like these wine flutes!

And if you call, one of our promotional product experts will be by the phone, ready to help you with your promotional product needs.
